Please pay attention to the following points:

• • To chose your country-priorities: 
    • Please read the country-specific Exchange conditions (SCOPE/SCORE) before giving your choices. They will provide important information on language requirements, available months, available cities, available departments/projects and any other requirement or specifics that may apply for an individual hosting country.
    • Have a look at the Experience reports (SCOPE/SCORE) and Explore pages of the countries you’re interested in, to get a feeling if they suit your expectations.
    • A quick research on the website of the federal department of foreign affairs of Switzerland is advisable.
  • Have a look at the swimsa internal point system (link) and the registration procedure (link).
• • Your CV (PDF) should include all of your swimsa-related and relevant activities.

• • Please note that your country priorities are not guaranteed. The contracts are not signed yet and thus there are no definite number of spots or countries confirmed. Your priority-list serves as the foundation on which base we will try our best to sign our contracts, however we naturally do not have full control over it. This leaves the possibility that you won’t get one of your preferences in the first round – in which case you will still have the possibility to sign up for one of the “leftover spot countries” in October though. Be sure that we always try our best to make an exchange in one of your preferred countries possible – heads up from experience though: an exchange will be an invaluable and amazing experience anyways and may be even more so in an unexpected country.

We want everyone to go on an exchange. The following countries are extremely popular in SCOPE and it is very difficult to get contracts with them. You can only select one of these countries as one of your priorities, the other two countries cannot be from this list. You have to select 3 different NMOs (National Member Organization, e.g swimsa Switzerland) in total.

Warning: Canada-Québec requires a lot of expensive medical tests to get accepted by the hospital. For details consult the Exchange Conditions.

For Research Exchanges (SCORE) you can freely choose from all the SCORE active countries.

Make sure to have read and understood the Exchange Conditions (EC) for SCOPE (link) or SCORE (link) of each country before applying and check if your country of interest is available for the month, city and department you wish.
