swimsa is the umbrella organisation for swiss medical students and represents their interests. Students from all 11 medical faculties throughout Switzerland are members of swimsa. We support medical students in and around their studies through projects and events. By sponsoring, you can contribute directly to individual projects or events or support swimsa as an organisation.

In addition to combined offers (platinum, gold, silver or bronze), which include a wide range of services, we can work out individual sponsorship agreements with you. These include, for example, newsletter or journal articles, social media promotions, logo presentations or information stands at events.

As a professional association, the vsao/asmac is committed to the professional, political and economic interests of assistant and senior physicians. The association supports the concerns of medical students as the next generation of members. Medical students can become members at no charge. The vsao/asmac is a gold sponsor of swimsa.

The FMH represents the interests of the swiss medical profession and is in constant dialogue with swimsa on issues relating to healthcare policy. Medical students are members free of charge. The FMH is also a gold sponsor of swimsa. 

The association is the service organisation of the vsao/asmac and offers services and insurance products. mediservice is the publisher of the vsao Journal. Mediservice is a silver sponsor of swimsa.

Originally founded to promote research and young scientists, the SAMS is now committed to building bridges between science and society.

swimsa is networked with various organisations in the healthcare sector and in the university landscape.

The Liaison Officers (LO) connect swimsa with committees and associations. For example, the voice of medical students is represented in the Swiss Student Union (VSS/UNES). Through other LOs, swimsa has a seat on committees of the vsao/asmac, the FMH including the Advisory Board for their Ärztezeitung, the SIWF and the FOPH, including working groups for Planetary Health. LOs regularly attend meetings of the respective committees. They are in close contact with the Advocacy Board of swimsa, of which they are also members.

The SYHA (Swiss youth health alliance), which consists of swimsa, the Swiss Pharmacy Students’ Association (asep) and the Swiss Psychology Students’ Association (psyCH), promotes interprofessional collaboration between the healthcare professions in Switzerland. The same goal applies to the exchange with the Swiss Dental Students’ Association (SDAH) and the MD-PhD Association (SMPA).

The swimsa network also includes medicus.ch. This is a leading career platform for the elective year as well as for later career stages, offering reviews and job offers for positions throughout Switzerland.
